About Me Thanks to my husband I have too been pulled into the wonderful world of the Ren Faire! I had only ever attended maybe twice a year until last year when the good Baron Robert Buckhurst invited me to faire...the rest is, shall we say, history...Now I am know by Baroness Elerrina Rosa Elena Buckhurst de la Salmeron (damn Spanish names!) Captain of Death's Dance and owner of The Flying Dutchess and The Widow Maker...at least that is how I was introduced to Queen Katherine of Aragon...By the way, I must also mention that I am the mother to a wonderful pirate prince that is making a name for himself!

Movies Some of my favorites would be Lord of the Rings,Eragon, Princess Bride,Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean (yes, all 3!), all 6 of the Star Wars, Gone With the Wind (come on, Rhett is one of the top Rouges!), Dances with Wolves and just about any fantasy, scifi, computer animated film out there...

TV Gotta love Cartoon Network! I also enjoy SciFi, Discovery Channel, TCM, TLC, History Channel, and the BBC.

Books Again, yes, I like them...!

Likes Dragons, pirates, mead, books, faire, music, hard cider, ice cream, ale, cheesecake...

Vices I prefer getting my daily fruit servings via woodpecker cider ale...

Heroes I hope my mother knew how much she inspired, encouraged and astounded me, she made me realize that I do deserve to be loved as much as I love...I miss you my Queen and Hero...My other hero is the one that I affectionatly call my Handsome Little Prince (well, he is not so little now, so I have started to switch that out with Pirate). Anyone that has a child or two, three...knows what I am saying when I state that the world is incredible again when you get to experience "new" again! Thank you Captain Enrique, the pirate prince, for showing how beautiful the world is again!

I'm offically a Wench in postage!!!

I so forgot about telling all and one about one of my anniversary gifts!!! In front of Her Majesty Queen Catherine Parr, I was given a box which contained the confimation of my Wench pin and packet!!! And....I was invited by the lovely ladies of the BARF loyal to particpate in my first Wench Walk!!! I lost my wench virginity with the good lady Fionna and Her Majestsy in attendence, yea, no pressure on my first "performance"! What color are my eyes, gentlemen?? Now, for the patient wait for my packet and acceptance onto the forums!!! I have also been invited to Invasion weekend here in GA, the is a mass wenching planned for a brother of one of the wenches that is a member of local 74. He will be on leave from Iraq and what better way to say "thank you"?!?!

Leave it to my "humble" rogue to give the gift of giving....I can only imagine what he will get Enrique when he turns 18....

Runs with pointy objects....

After going to my first SCA event and watching the rapier matches, I have decided that I want to wield sharp pointy objects in a orderly and graceful sorta way sooooo....I went to my first rapier practice this week! (we are learning Capo Ferro's style) Man, they sure do make it look easy!! Just learning the proper stance is rough! The old knees don't want to bend the way they should and the old hips have a mind of their own....You get so use to moving one way that when you have to move in another way that doesn't seem "natural" you become very concious of your body. I have to "learn" to bend at the waist, sounds simple but we bend at our hips! I have to also learn to get my knees to bend directly over my feet, again sounds simple enough but.....And of course we are given strength training excercises, I need to try to work those into my everyday doings. I was also given a lean and lunge excercise to work on...this one I can either practice with Edmund (yup, he went with me) or one of the women at work who started 2 weeks ago. Okay off to finish the laundry so that I can get my 20 minutes of practice in and then I have to get online to get some more idea for my next set of garb....but that is another story!
